Scope of work: New Masonry

BUILDING SHELL

  • Furnish, set-up, maintain, dismantle and remove all equipment (forklift, tube scaffolding, ladders, hand tools, etc.) necessary for the new masonry portion of the project.
  • Furnish and install approximately 2,745 S.F. of stone veneer on the exterior walls of building and on one (1) fireplace on the 1st/2nd floor as per drawings.  Stone veneer to be based on an allowance (see below).
  • Installation to consist of installing stone in a random pattern using type ‘N’ mortar to the substrate using two-piece anchors every 16” O.C. Substrate is to be installed by others.
  • Once stone has been anchored, all stone joints to be grouted and tooled to final finish using natural gray type N mortar.
  • Furnish and install 4” thick natural gray stone band as per drawings.
  • Furnish and install 4” thick natural gray stone sill below sixteen (16) 1st floor windows as per drawings.
  • Furnish and install utility brick (based on below allowance) to erect new masonry veneer walls as per drawings. Brick to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘N’ mortar. Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to final finish.
  • Brick to be anchored to substrate using (1) HDW10 anchor every 16” O.C. vertically and 32” O.C. horizontally.
  • Furnish and install 40mil self-adhesive flashing at the base of the new masonry veneer walls and above wall openings. Furnish and install one (1) piece of 1 ½” stainless steel drip edge over door/window openings and cotton rope weeps will be installed every 32” O.C.

TRASH ENCLOSURE:

  • Furnish, set-up, maintain, dismantle and remove all equipment (scaffolding, ladders, hand tools, etc.) necessary for the new masonry portion of the project.
  • Furnish and install natural gray 8” split faced CMU for one (1) trash enclosure as per drawings (three (3) walls with 8” split face CMU (up to 5’-4” tall). Block to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘S’ mortar. Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to final finish.
  • Furnish and install 8” H.D. ladder type wire installed in masonry coursing every 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install one (1) grade 60 #4 rebar installed in fully grouted CMU cores every 48” O.C. for vertical reinforcement.
  • Furnish and install one (1) bond beam course with two (2) continuous grade 60 #4 rebars in fully grouted cells at the top of the walls and over opening.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Chemical washing of new masonry work upon completion of project as needed.  Chemical washing to consist of applying one (1) coat of Sure Klean Detergent 600 as manufactured by Prosoco with a hand-held sprayer, brushing into masonry surface and rinsing clean with high-pressure water.
  • Stone veneer is based on an allowance of $300.00/ton of stone.
  • Stone sills/bands to be 4” thick natural gray stone.
  • This is based on using 8” natural gray split-face CMU.
  • Elevator block walls are to be scraped clean upon completion of project.
  • This is based on an allowance of $1,300.00/1,000 for the utility brick.
  • All debris relating to our work to be cleaned and placed in refuse containers provided by general contractor on project site.
