New Masonry
- Furnish, set-up, maintain, dismantle and remove all equipment (forklift, scaffolding, ladders, hand tools, etc.) necessary for the new masonry portion of the project.
- Furnish and install standard gray, smooth faced 8” CMU necessary for erecting new exterior masonry walls starting on top of existing precast 1st floor walls (39’-4” of new wall on three (3) elevations). Block is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘S’ mortar. Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish. Bottom course to be 4” and 4” CMU to allow for the installation of 40mil self-adhesive flashing with cotton rope weeps every 32” O.C.
- Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam coursing at floor joist bearing heights, roof joist bearing height and the top of masonry walls with two (2) grade 60 #5 rebar installed as per drawings.
- Vertical reinforcement to be one (1) grade 60 #5 rebar installed in fully grouted CMU cores every 32” O.C. as per drawings. Additional reinforcement as per drawings (#6 rebar at south walls as per drawings).
- Horizontal reinforcement to be ladder type wire installed in masonry coursing every 16” O.C. vertically.
- Furnish and install preformed rubberized control joint gaskets for control joints as per drawings.
- Furnish and install ½” * 8” anchor bolts every 48” O.C. at top of exterior walls.
- Furnish and install six (6) standard glass block unit glass block windows on the side elevation as per drawings.
- Furnish and install 2-1/4” * 12” limestone sills below windows on the side elevation as per drawings.
