Masonry

• Furnish, set-up, maintain, dismantle and remove all equipment (forklift, scaffolding, ladders, hand tools, etc.) necessary for the masonry portion of the project.
• Furnish and install fully grouted standard gray, normal weight, smooth faced 8” CMU necessary for erecting one (1) masonry dual cab elevator shaft and two (2) firewalls per drawings. 6”/8”/12” fully grouted CMU to be furnished and install for typical exterior perimeter foundation block. Block is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘S’ mortar. Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
• Furnish and install one (1) trash enclosure using Mocha colored County Materials CMU as per drawings. Mocha colored Burnished block does not exist. Smooth Mocha CMU to be used in its place or split faced Mocha can be used in its place.
• Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam coursing at top of walls with two (2) continuous grade 60 #5 rebar installed as per structural drawings.
• Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam lintels as per structural drawings.
• Vertical reinforcement to be as per structural drawings (typically 24” O.C._. CMU cores containing vertical reinforcing bars to be grouted solid.
• Horizontal reinforcement to be ladder type wire installed in masonry coursing every 16” O.C. vertically.
• Install elevator hoist beam and elevator inserts furnished by others on project site.
• Install hollow metal door frames furnished by others on project site.
• Furnish and install exterior masonry veneer using General Shale Stone Mill modular sizes face brick as per drawings (over 4” CMU below grade starter course per plans). Brick is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘N’ mortar. Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
• Furnish and install cast stone sills caps, and copings within brick veneer as per drawings.
• Veneer to be anchored to substrate using one (1) two-piece adjustable anchor every 16” O.C. horizontally and vertically.
• Install steel lintels furnish by others on project site.
• Furnish and install Mortar Trap (or equal) in wall cavity at the base of masonry walls and over openings in masonry as per drawings.
• Furnish and install 40mil self-adhesive flashing over 3” stainless steel drip edge at the base of masonry walls, over openings in masonry, below openings with sills and with plastic cell vent “weeps” installed in masonry head joints every 24” O.C.
• Furnish and install one (1) masonry monument sign per plans using brick per building, cast stone, and CMU per plans. Signage to be furnished and installed by others.
