New Masonry

  • Furnish, set-up, maintain, dismantle and remove all equipment (forklift, tube scaffolding, ladders, hand tools, etc.) necessary for the new masonry portion of the project.
  • Furnish and install a combination of standard gray 12” & 8” CMU necessary for erecting one (1) CMU elevator shaft as per drawings.  Block is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘S’ mortar.  Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam course at floor joist bearing heights and at the top of masonry walls with two (2) grade 60 #5 rebar installed as per drawings.
  • Vertical reinforcement to be one (1) grade 60 #5 rebar installed in fully grouted CMU cores every 48” O.C. horizontally. 
  • Horizontal reinforcement to be mill galvanized ladder type wire installed in masonry coursing every 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install steel lintels over door openings.  Steel is to be shop primed.
  • Install steel hoist beams elevator insert brackets furnished by others on project site.

INTEIROR CMU WALLS

  • Furnish and install standard gray 8” & 6” CMU necessary for erecting new masonry basement wall from the floor slab to bottom of 1st floor deck as per drawings.  Block is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘S’ mortar.  Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam course at the top of masonry walls with two (2) grade 60 #5 rebar installed as per drawings.
  • Vertical reinforcement to be one (1) grade 60 #5 rebar installed in fully grouted CMU cores every 48” O.C. horizontally. 
  • Horizontal reinforcement to be mill galvanized ladder type wire installed in masonry coursing every 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install one (1) H&B 420 PTA at the top of masonry walls every 48” O.C.
  • Furnish and install mineral wool compressible filler between the top course of masonry walls and precast deck as per drawings.
  • Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam lintels over openings in masonry with two (2) grade 60 #5 rebar installed.
  • Install hollow metal door frames furnished by others on project site.

INSULTECH CMU

  • Furnish and install 12” Insultech CMU as manufactured by Northfield Block necessary for erecting new exterior masonry walls below grade on partial front elevation, partial rear elevation and one (1) side elevation of building as per drawings.  Block is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘S’ mortar.  Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install fully grouted bond beam course at the top of masonry walls with two (2) grade 60 #5 rebar installed as per drawings.
  • Vertical reinforcement to be one (1) grade 60 #5 rebar installed in fully grouted CMU cores every 48” O.C. horizontally. 
  • Horizontal reinforcement to be “hot-dipped” ladder type wire installed in masonry coursing every 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Install hollow metal door frames furnished by others on project site.

BUILDING VENEER

  • Furnish and install utility size face brick necessary for erecting new masonry veneer walls and masonry columns as per drawings.  Brick is to be installed in 3rd bond using natural gray type ‘N’ mortar.  Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install 4” cast stone sills/banding as per drawings.
  • Furnish and install 4” * 8” * 24” cast stone veneer at 1st floor entrance walls as per drawings.
  • Furnish and install 8” cast stone banding/window headers/arches as per drawings.
  • Install control joints in masonry veneer at locations as per drawings.
  • Veneer to be anchored to substrate using one (1) two-piece adjustable anchor installed every 16” O.C. horizontally and 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install steel angle lintels over door, window and HVAC openings in masonry as per drawings.  Steel is to be shop primed.
  • Furnish and install Mortar Net in wall cavity at the base of masonry walls and above openings in masonry.
  • Furnish and install 40mil self-adhesive flashing over a 1½” stainless steel drip edge a the base of masonry walls, above openings in masonry and below cast stone sills with plastic cell vent “weeps” installed in masonry head joints every 24” O.C.
  • Furnish and install caulking at cast stone head and bed joints as per drawings.  Caulking to consist of raking out mortar joints approximately ½” to allow for the installation of 3/8” closed cell backer rod, filling joint with a one-part polyurethane sealant (Sonneborn or equal) and tooling to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install caulking at control joint locations and around windows/doors/HVAC louvers, penetrations, etc. as per drawings.  Caulking to consist installing 3/8” closed cell backer rod, filling joint with a one-part polyurethane sealant (Sonneborn or equal) and tooling to a final finish.

MONUMENT SIGN

  • Furnish and install utility size face brick necessary for erecting new masonry veneer on monument sign as per drawings.  Brick is to be installed in 3rd bond using natural gray type ‘N’ mortar.  Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install 4” cast stone coping on the top of monument sign as per drawings.
  • Veneer to be anchored to substrate using one (1) two-piece adjustable anchor installed every 16” O.C. horizontally and 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install 40mil self-adhesive flashing over a 1½” stainless steel drip edge at the base of masonry walls plastic cell vent “weeps” installed in masonry head joints every 24” O.C.

FRONT ENTRANCE RAMPS

  • Furnish and cast stone (both sides) with standard gray 4” CMU back-up necessary for erecting new masonry entrance ramp walls as per drawings.  Block and cast stone is to be installed in standard running bond using natural gray type ‘N’ mortar.  Mortar joints are to be tooled concave, brushed and tooled to a final finish.
  • Furnish and install 4” cast stone caps on the top of masonry walls as per drawings.
  • Veneer to be anchored to substrate using one (1) two-piece adjustable anchor installed every 16” O.C. horizontally and 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install 40mil self-adhesive flashing over a 1½” stainless steel drip edge at the base of masonry walls plastic cell vent “weeps” installed in masonry head joints every 24” O.C.

SOUTHEAST RETAINING WALL

  • Extend height of existing retaining wall using standard gray 8” split-face CMU (split-face facing away from property) as per drawings.
  • Furnish and cast stone veneer over existing concrete foundation and newly extended CMU retaining wall (cast stone facing building) as per drawings
  • Furnish and install 4” cast stone caps on the top of masonry walls as per drawings.
  • Veneer to be anchored to substrate using one (1) two-piece adjustable anchor installed every 16” O.C. horizontally and 16” O.C. vertically.
  • Furnish and install 40mil self-adhesive flashing over a 1½” stainless steel drip edge at the base of masonry walls plastic cell vent “weeps” installed in masonry head joints every 24” O.C.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Price of masonry is based on a utility size face brick allowance of $1,200.00/1,000 pieces.  Sales tax has been calculated at this amount.
  • Price of masonry is based on Northfield Block standard Insultech color series.
  • Chemical washing of new brick, stone and Insultech masonry upon completion of project.  Chemical washing to consist of applying one (1) coat of Sure Klean Detergent 600 as manufactured by Prosoco with a hand held sprayer, brushing into masonry surface and rinsing clean with high pressure water.
  • All debris relating to our work to be cleaned and placed in refuse containers provided by general contractor on project site.

SCOPE OF WORK-New E.I.F.S.:

  • Furnish, set-up, maintain, dismantle and remove all equipment (boom-lift(s), tube scaffolding, ladders, hand tools, etc.) necessary for new E.I.F.S. portion of the project.
  • Furnish and install approximately 18,450 S.F. of new 1½” E.I.F.S. on building exterior as per drawings.  E.I.F.S. is to be StoTherm Essence NeXT system.
  • Furnish and apply Sto Gold Coat to substrate.
  • Furnish and apply Sto 101 PABto the back of foam cornice using notched trowel and apply foam cornice to substrate.
  • Furnish and apply 48” standard mesh over previously rasped insulation board (9 ½” at termination points) and fully embed mesh into wet base coat (Sto 101 PAB) by troweling from center to the edges of the mesh (double wrapping mesh at all corners).
  • Furnish and apply finish to base coat using trowel to scrape material down to a uniform thickness. Finish coat color and texture is to be as per drawings.
  • Installation of accents (cornices, v-grooves, drip edges, etc.) as per drawings.  Approximately 1,180 L.F. of custom profile E.I.F.S. cornice /banding to be installed.
  • Furnish and install projected E.I.F.S. sills, headers, surrounds and keystones as per drawings.
  • Furnish and install caulking in those areas where E.I.F.S. butts against dissimilar material as per drawings (metal, masonry, wood, etc.). Caulking to consist of installing 3/8” backer rod and filling with a one-part silicone sealant (Sonneborn or equal). Caulking is to match adjacent E.I.F.S. finish color as close as possible.
